76人今天利用狀元籤選中了西蒙斯，艾佛森特別在推特上發了訊息，「恭喜西蒙斯，我知道你會成為費城人的驕傲。」

艾佛森也給了西蒙斯良心建議，「剛進聯盟，新人都會有起起伏伏，這很正常，但你必須克服所有困境和逆境，付出全部努力，跌倒了再爬起來，我相信費城人都會全力挺你，我就是這樣走過來的。」
